    Set in , Trent’s solid sequel to ’s Lady of Ashes takes undertaker Violet Harper from her new American home back to England. Anthony Fairmont, Lord Raybourn, apparently commits suicid. As Lady of Ashes is the first in a new historical mystery series, I look forward to reading any future books from this author. I would like to see more focus on mystery rather than romance in future in books, but the wealth of historical and atmospheric detail provided by Trent made up for any of /5(10).

Best fiction books are always available here. I have read the first book, Lady of Ashes, and was very glad I found the book. I found it interesting to read about Victorian funeral rituals and all the pomp that went into the process.
